I believe difference is in the audience. Magic articles in Wikipedia are articles by for laymen whereas MagicPedia articles are by magicians for magicians.

Lee's thoughts: Magicians spend time in the wiki. Magicians write articles in the wiki as well. I believe the difference is, Magicpedia is meant to be for the person looking to further their education about the art of magic. The information found in the wiki is limited. That's why assimilating historical information, with links back to Magicpedia, is so imperative.

: We at MagicPedia were wondering if this group was aware of us at http://geniimagazine.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. It's built on the same wiki software and principles as Wikipedia but is geared towards magicians as the audience. It allows us to add more detailed magic related information that doesn't really fit in Wikipedia's guidelines. But there are some areas that intersect.

: We would like to move over to Wikipedia any relevant pages like some Biographies that are not already there. For example: Bob Hummer, Stewart James, Al Baker, Ross Bertram, John Booth, Ken Brooke, Frank Simon, T.A. Waters, Winston Freer, Faucett Ross, August Roterberg, Eddie Fields, Frank Garcia, Professor Hoffmann, Al Mann, Bill Amac, Louis Tannen, Giuseppe Pinetti, Hen Fetsch, Karl :Germain, Dante, Frank Ducrot, Del Ray, Albert Goshman, Walter Scott, Tony Anverdi, Bruce Cervon, Jean Hugard, Fredrick Braue, Han Ping Chien, Michael Skinner, Karrell Fox, Lu Brent, Steve Duscheck, Stewart Judah, Joseffy, Carl Hermann, Harold Rice, Jimmy Grippo, Issac Fawkes, Bev Bergeron, Max Holden, Ottokar Fischer, Sid Lorraine, Lafayette,  Karl Fulves, Lewis Ganson, Jack Chanin, Milton Kort, U.F. Grant, C. Lang Neil,  Bob Carver, John Ramsay, William Larsen Sr., Ralph Hull, Tenkai, Peter Kane, Dr. Jacob Daily, David Bamberg, Servais LeRoy, Peter Warlock, Dell O' Dell, Edward Victor, Percy Abbott, Ellis Stanyon, David Abbott, Samuel Hooker, Paul LePaul.

:We could keep the biographical information on Wikipedia to general information about the person, but provide a link back to MagicPedia for the more detailed magic specific information. We do this in the reverse for Celebrity magicians like http://geniimagazine.com/wiki/index.php/Dick_Cavett. We put the magic related information about Dick Cavett with a link to Wikipedia to get more information.  The idea is to create links between MagicPedia and Wikipedia to assimilate the historical content on Magicpedia to the general content on Wikipedia.

:The bottom line is that we like to work closely with this group to make sure we what we plan to do is welcomed and within the Wikipedia and your WikiProject Magic guidelines.

:We also welcome everyone here to create and update any article over at MagicPedia where you see a need to get more specific about a magic topic that would be too detailed for Wikipedia's audience.

How is MagicPedia and Wikipedia different and how do they co-exist?

Joe's thoughts: I believe difference is in the audience.
