The Magic Man was a Chicago-based musical The Magic Man (written by Barbara D'Amato and her husband.[1] which opened in 1975, just after New York's The Magic Show starring Doug Henning.
At age 18, David Copperfield, while enrolled at Fordham University was cast in the lead role, three weeks into his freshman year.
More a melodrama than a standard musical comedy9 the story takes place in Chicago circa 1913. [2]
