The Classic Pass is one of the essential foundations of card magic. It is a sleight which secretly and invisibly transposes the halves of the deck.

While the sleight itself is ancient, the manner in which the technique has evolved over the past 75 years has brought it to a state of true invisibility in the hands of its finest practitioners.

The finest instructional video on the Classic Pass (and other forms including the Riffle Pass and Jiggle Pass) is On the Pass starring Richard Kaufman, was produced in 1987.
