Eight Kings is a mnemonic to remember the cards in the deck in a specific apparently random order.

Eight kings threatened to save, nine fine ladies for one sick knave = 8-K-3-10-2-7-9-5-Q-4-A-6-J.

It's used in some Stack deck routines.

The system can be traced as far back as The Expositor by William Pinchbeck in 1805.
