Gale's cabinet of knowledge; or, Miscellaneous Recreations by John Gale was published in London in 1796.
It contains, among other conjuring tricks, "the most celebrated Card Deceptions every exhibited". The book was re-issued in 1797, 1800, and 1808. [1]
